The
Guitar Society of Northern Colorado meets on the
third Monday of the month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the
Spotlight Music Cafe on the corner of College Ave. and
Harmony Rd. in Fort Collins. Monthly meetings run throughout
the year with the annual organizational meeting in September
for the election of officers and the collection of annual
dues.
Meetings
normally contain a very brief business meeting and
occasionally include a short educational program, presentation, or
performance. The bulk of the meeting time, however, is devoted to
performances of instrumental fingerstyle guitar solos and ensemble works performed on
classical (nylon-string) guitar or acoustic (steel-string)
guitar. Performances are by the
society members themselves, as well as by guest artists.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend any regular meeting
to share their own guitar performance or simply to enjoy
listening to the playing of others. Feel free to attend a
meeting as a guest before you make the commitment to join as
an active member.
